"Space Knowledge 2024"
The
training/course "Space Knowledge 2024" for school
personnel in the Nordic
countries and
in northern Germany
will take place live on Monday September 30th at 17:00 -
20:00 (CEST =
UTC + 2).
"Space
knowledge" is run by space enthusiasts and was
financed at the start-up by the
Swedish
State Space
Agency, SNSB. The aim of the training is to strengthen
the knowledge
of space and
space travel among educators,
space is an excellent platform to arouse interest
in science
and
school. So far, more than 12,000 educators in Sweden
have participated in the
project and we
have collaborated
with astronauts, science centers and universities.
Regardless
of whether you have younger or older students,
you decide for yourself in what
way
and at what level you
bring this into the classroom (that's what you're a pro
at).
We want to
give you a good overview of the subject area
and arouse your enthusiasm for the
subject. The
course is
interspersed with short film clips and the course material
is included
in a PDF file. The
training is not only suitable for
the school's staff, but works well for people
interested in
space in
general.
"Space
Knowledge 2024" is conducted in English via Zoom
over the Internet on your
computer.
Participants do not
need to have any software apart from a web browser (you
will
receive a link
via email and all you have to do is click
there and participate), the computer
must have a camera,
microphone and speakers and must have a stable
connection. If you miss "Space
Knowledge 2024"
on the
30th, a recorded version will be broadcast on two
occasions (Thursday October 3rd
13.00 – 16.00 and
Monday October 7th 17.00 – 20.00), CEST = UTC + 2.
After 85 minutes we take
a 10 minute
break and
then we
continue for another 85 minutes.
Here's a
little about the content: What's the problem with
finding possible
extraterrestrial life? Some
necessary
space physics for the day, including how orbit works and
experiencing
"weightlessness",
what is the solar wind and
cosmic radiation? We are making a virtual visit to
the
International Space
Station, how does it work on board?
How does a spacewalk work? What does today's
space
operations look like? Rockets and capsules can now be
reused and entrepreneurs
have established
themselves in
space. Will China put a woman on the surface of the moon
before
the US? We are
beginning to be able to discern the
contours of how humans will land on Mars in
the next
decade.
In addition to investigating Venus and Mars, we
also look at some exotic places
where man or his
probes
have visited, for example, we follow a lander down
through Saturn's moon
Titan's thick
cloud layers see
rivers and oceans.
The
participation fee is SKr 1120 including VAT
(approximately EUR 98 or DKr 695 or
NKr 1014).
For
every fourth ticket you buy, you get a fifth free of
charge.
